Abstract

The article considers the strategic principles of the transition of the oilseed industry to sustainable development, which is relevant in the context of global challenges related to climate change, reduction of natural resources and population growth. Oilseeds such as sunflower, soybeans and rapeseed play an important role in ensuring food security and economic development, but their production is often accompanied by negative environmental consequences. The purpose of the study is to determine the strategic foundations of the transition of the oilseed industry to a sustainable development path in response to climate challenges, resource depletion and growing demand for food. The research methodology includes a systematic interdisciplinary approach, a combination of analysis of agricultural policies, review of foreign scientific sources and practices of sustainable development of agricultural production. Methods and approaches are applied, which include critical analysis of the literature and comparative analysis of strategies at the global and national levels The main problems faced by the oilseed industry are analyzed, including soil depletion, water pollution and biodiversity decline. It is determined that in order to achieve sustainable development, it is necessary to introduce innovative technologies that will reduce the negative impact on the environment. In particular, attention is focused on the use of integrated management systems that combine agronomic, economic and environmental aspects. Successful implementation of strategies for the transition to sustainable development requires an integrated approach, including not only technological innovations, but also social changes that will contribute to the formation of environmental awareness in society. The transition of the oilseed industry to sustainable development is not only a necessity, but also an opportunity to increase competitiveness in the international market. The implementation of the proposed strategies will ensure food and economic security, maintain ecological balance and promote the social development of rural areas. The scientific and practical value lies in the generalization of interdisciplinary approaches to assessing the sustainability of the oilseed sector. A methodological framework for further research on agroecological innovations is proposed, as well as strategies and specific measures for support policies that can be used by authorities and agribusiness to plan and implement projects for the transition of the industry to sustainable development.
